Piety is a technology in Age of Empires IV that can be researched at the Monastery or the Mosque in the Imperial Age. Once researched, it increases the hit points of religious units by 40.
Civilization bonuses[]
Delhi Sultanate: The technology is free, but takes 3x as long to research (135 seconds instead of 45 seconds). They can also research it starting in the Dark Age, three Ages earlier than usual.- House of Lancaster: This technology is 15% cheaper if King's College has been constructed.
- Mongols: Can research improved version for an additional 325 stone to give religious units an additional +20 hit points (+60 total).
Changelog[]
- With patch 10257, the base research time of Piety for the Delhi Sultanate was reduced from 600 seconds to 135 seconds, to properly reflect the 3x Dark Age research time scale factor
- With patch 9.2.628, Piety was removed from the Japanese.
Campaign version[]
Because the original four campaigns have not been rebalanced since the release of the game, Piety costs 450 gold (with improved version costing 450 stone extra) in those campaigns. It is otherwise the same.
