This article is about the unit in Chronicles: Alexander the Great. For the unit in Age of Empires, see Phalangite (Age of Empires).

Infantry with very long range, but cannot attack at close range.
—In-game description

The Phalangite is a Classical Age infantry unit in Chronicles: Alexander the Great available at the Barracks to the Macedonians. It can be upgraded to the Elite Phalangite in the Imperial Age. The (Elite) Phalangite replaces the (Elite) Hoplite which is available to the other Greek civilizations. While it has a very long range for an infantry unit, it is unable to attack enemies that get too close.

Tactics[]

This section is most likely incomplete and may need expansion. You can help by adding to it.

Like with Kamayuks, massing Phalangites enables them to attack from behind one another and can thus compensate for their minimum range. While they have decent bonus damage against cavalry, it is advised to use Guardsmen or the player's own cavalry with them to minimize the risk of being outflanked; the latter will also help to counter siege units.

Further statistics[]

As Phalangites are unique to the Macedonians, only technologies that are available to them are shown in the following table:
