Strategy[]

Sobek's greatest asset, the Petsuchos, is tied with the hero unit Hatshepsut for having the longest range of all Egyptian units. This enables them to strike units hidden much further an enemy meat shield. This can be used to eliminate enemy archer units that could otherwise snipe the player's units. On hill tiles, the Petsuchos gains +1 Range, enabling it to strike even further and even out-range other archer-type units (units that are out-ranged cannot counterattack). As well as impressive range, the Petsuchos is very fast unlike its Age of Mythology counterpart, capable over covering as much distance in one move as Camelry or Chariot Archers. If they are obtained later in the game, they can quickly join a battlefield to help support the player's army. The Petsuchos is also quite affordable considering these stats and is even cheaper if players worship Osiris as well. As long as players can keep them a safe distance from melee units, the Petsuchos will prove to be a valuable addition to their army.

Trivia[]

  • The Petsuchos was intended to benefit from Hathor's Blessing of Air and Blessing of the Stars technologies, but does not due to a bug.
