Patch 1.0 is the patch accompanying the launch of Age of Empires II: The Conquerors, first released on August 24, 2000. It lists only the changes between the civilizations of previous version of the game, and The Conquerors, and not all new features.
Some changes of this patch were backported to The Age of Kings a week later.
While the changes are mentioned in the manual, it does not mention exact details. For example, it mentions that Samurai move faster, but does not mention how much faster. The manual is also not complete.
The format here is different from that in the manual.

- Only the Franks and Persians did not receive any direct changes other than unique technologies.
Notes[]
- โ 1.0 1.1 The manual is wrong here.
- โ 2.0 2.1 2.2 Due to the latter sharing armor class with Camels
- โ 3.0 3.1 Incorrectly written to be firing faster
- โ 4.0 4.1 Was previously benefitting due to effects to unit and class both
- โ 5.0 5.1 5.2 5.3 5.4 Not exactly a change, since the unit was introduced simultaneously with this patch
