Nizam Fusiliers have similar statistics to Janissaries, which are also unique to the Ottomans. They do, however, move slightly faster than them, have different multipliers in ranged attack and different type of resistance.
They have a 20% siege resistance like Wagons, Travois and Rickshaws. This makes them much more durable against artillery fire and units like Grenadiers, Abus Gunners, Arsonists, and Huaracas, but also slightly vulnerable to all ranged units and melee units.
Unit stance modifications[]
When Nizam Fusiliers are assigned to different unit stances, their ranged attack multipliers and range changes.
In the Volley Mode, they have 12 range and ×2.0 multiplier vs. Heavy infantry.
In the Stagger Mode, they have 12 range and ×2.0 multiplier vs. Artillery and Siege units.
In the Melee Mode, they have ×3.0 multiplier vs. Cavalry and ×2.25 vs. Shock infantry.
In the Defend Mode, they have 12 range, ×2.5 multiplier vs. Cavalry and ×1.8 vs. Shock infantry.
In Stand Ground, they have 20 range and no multipliers.
Strategy[]
By using the Mosque Construction card, the unique Mosque technologies become 60% cheaper, including the ones after sending Palace Intrigue card. The New Order Infantry technology will now give 15 Nizam Fusiliers and also converts all Janissary shipments to Nizam Fusilier shipments for 1,000 wood instead of 2,500 wood. Upon reaching the Industrial Age, it is also possible to research Topçu Corps to get 3 Great Bombards for 600 food instead of 1,500 food, which becomes very powerful when combined with Nizam Fusiliers.
Special ability[]
Sürat Assault: For the next 8 seconds, all Nizam Fusiliers have their speed increased by 1 but are locked into Melee Mode. 90 seconds cooldown; shared across all Nizam Fusiliers.

The Nizam Fusilier is automatically upgraded at every Age up starting in the Fortress Age.

Nizam Fusiliers cost 90 food, 25 coin, train in 34 seconds, do not have a train limit, have a hand attack multiplier of ×2.0 against cavalry and ×1.5 against shock infantry, a ×2.0 multiplier against cavalry and ×1.6 against shock infantry in the Defend Mode, and their ranged attack have a ×2.0 multiplier against infantry.
Knights of the Mediterranean[]
With update 13.27885, Nizam Fusiliers cost 60 food, 70 coin, train in 50 seconds, have a train limit of 15, are available in the Industrial Age, Nizam Fusiliers' hand attack have a ×2.5 multiplier against heavy cavalry and ×1.8 multiplier against shock infantry, their ranged attack now have a ×2.0 multiplier against heavy infantry instead of all infantry, a ×2.5 multiplier against cavalry and ×1.8 against shock infantry in the Defend Mode, and the Egyptrevolution no longer have access to Nizam Fusiliers.
With update 13.38085, Nizam Fusiliers no longer benefit from Counter Infantry Rifling, have a ×3.0 melee multiplier against cavalry, a ×2.25 melee multiplier against shock infantry, and now have a train limit of 20.
Trivia[]
The Nizam Fusilier's name comes from Nizam-ı Cedid, which means New Order in English. Nizam-I Cedid was a series of national reforms carried out during the late Ottoman Empire period.

Following devastating defeats at the hands of Russia and Austria, the Sultan Selim III (1761-1807) realized that the once-mighty Ottoman army required reforming to remain on par with that of its rivals. Modern drilling and the use of bayonets were among the improvements made to these new Ottoman infantry units; however, this new corps was soon engaged in a bitter rivalry with the Janissaries, elite troops of the Ottoman Empire. While this internal strife occasionally affected morale and caused violent incidents, the Nizam corps were more effective than their predecessors, even if they could not fully turn the tide against the Empire's powerful enemies.
