Strategy[]
The Nidhogg is a heavy infantry type myth unit that acts as a one unit army. It has phenomenal HP, the highest of all Norse myth units, and second only to the Mountain Giant for highest attack. It is also airborne and can bypass mountains and rivers, enabling it to quickly join a battle. As it can also can be summoned on a tile of a player's choice rather than from a Temple and can attack on the same turn it is cast, players can also use it to surprise their enemy and quickly change the tides in a battle. However, Nidhogg has relatively low defenses and repeated attacks will eventually finish him off for good. It cannot be healed by Priests or Valkyries either. The only means for Nidhogg to regain HP is by retreating to the player's town and share the tile with a friendly building for a prolonged period of time. Therefore, Nidhogg is best used in hit-and-run tactics. Players should be wary of Zeus worshipers who may save their Bolt God Power for it, as well as any Hero units, notably the Son of Osiris.
Trivia[]
Unlike its Age of Mythologycounterpart, this Nidhogg's appearance is more like a Wyvern and it emerges from beneath the earth rather than descends from the sky.
