New Hampshire is a Fortress Age Federal State in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, available to the United States. As soon as the player advances to the Fortress Age by choosing New Hampshire, 5 Regulars appear at the Home City shipment point and the following Home City cards will be added into the U.S. player's deck:

Strategy[]

New Hampshire is a federal state that focuses on economy, artillery, and infantry. Picking this Federal state enables the United States to get three Factories, one of them in the Fortress Age, unlike any other civilization. If the player wants to perform a booming strategy, picking Massachusetts or Pennsylvania for aging to the Commerce Age, and then New Hampshire, is the way to go, Also, this combination of federal states is the best start for an Outlaw/Mercenary strategy because these two federal states offers some coin-related federal cards or technologies. The Napoleon Guns from French Canadians is a good addition if the player wants a Mercenary strategy, and this artillery may fill the role of the Falconet to a degree.

The best follow-up federal states for New Hampshire in the Industrial Age are probably California and South Carolina; with California, the player will be able to greatly boom the economy, thanks to the additional Town Center along with the California Gold Rush federal card; with South Carolina, the Napoleon Guns will be improved with the Marion's Diversions federal card. In the Imperial Age, New York is the best follow-up Federal state; New York focuses entirely on mercenaries, improving the stats of these units, and Napoleon Guns are a mercenary unit.

Recommended shipments[]

  • United States Army: The General, Minutemen, and Heavy Infantry get +15% hit points and attack. This improves Regulars.
  • 54th Massachusetts Volunteers: Ships 5 State Militia and 4 Regulars, and upgrades them to Veteran.
  • Patriotism: Regular train time -35%.
  • Advanced Saloon: Saloon build limit +2, support 20 population, and available from the Exploration Age. Since French Canadians allows Napoleon guns at the Saloon, this card allows the player to spam this unit easier.
  • Springfield Armory: Ships 1 Arsenal Wagon and enables more technologies there that improve Napoleon Guns and Regulars.
  • Virginia General Assembly: Ships 1 State Capitol Wagon; The next technology researched at the State Capitol (except Spies and Blockade) is free; State Capitol build limit +1. This helps Factory Wagons and Factories, as State Capitol improvements benefit buildings and Wagons in general.
  • Any economic upgrade card, particularly cards that favor coin gathering.
  • Virginia General Assembly: Ships 1 State Capitol Wagon; The next technology researched at the State Capitol (except Spies and Blockade) is free; State Capitol build limit +1
  • Poker: Ships 13 random mercenaries; up to 3 random mercenaries available at the Saloon.
  • Marion's Diversions (South Carolina): Artillery get +5% speed; Quaker Guns available at the Artillery Foundry.
  • Hamilton's Own (New York): Ships 2 Li'l Bombards and 4 Napoleon Guns; Mercenaries get +25% hit points and attack.
