“ | Anubis increases the rate at which Monuments generate Favor. | ” |
—In-game description in Retold |
Necropolis is an Egyptian myth technology in Age of Mythology that is available to worshipers of Anubis and can be researched at the Temple. Once researched, it makes Monuments accumulate favor faster.
Effects[]
Strategy[]
Necropolis benefits Isis players far more than other major gods, as her bonus of empowered Monuments and Wonder granting double the favor also applies to the favor rate increase from this technology. E.g., a Monument to the Gods grants 12 favor per minute, increased to 15 favor per minute by Necropolis. Without Necropolis, an Isis Pharaoh causes the Monument to the Gods to grant 24 favor per minute. With Necropolis, that is increased to 30 favor per minute. A Son of Osiris always grants +3.33% favor compared to a Pharaoh, even when including the effects of Necropolis or the Isis bonus.

Retold[]
History[]
“ | The ancient city of Syut was a center of worship for Anubis and Wapwawet. Syut was later renamed Lycopolis – City of the Wolf - by the Greeks for its importance to the two "wolf-headed" gods. Today the city of Asyut is an important agricultural center for cotton and grains, but the tombs of its ancient necropolis tell of its significance as a center of Anubis – god of the dead and guardian of the necropolises. | ” |
