Naval Arrowslits is a weapon emplacement in Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition for the Dock available starting in the Feudal Age. After upgrading, the Dock gains a defensive arrowslit attack that can only target ships. As an emplacement, it is not subject to most bonuses that affect researching technologies. It is available to all civilizations except the Knights Templar, who have the Naval Springald Emplacement instead.
Civilization bonuses[]
Byzantines: When researched at a Dock within the influence of a Cistern with the Dialecticus ability active, the research speed of this emplacement is 30% faster per water level at the Cistern.- Delhi Sultanate: Each Scholar garrisoned within a Dock increases the research speed of this emplacement by 20%.
- Holy Roman Empire and Order of the Dragon: Emplacements cost 20% less.
- Japanese: Research speeds are 125% faster at Docks with garrisoned Yorishiro.

- With update 15.1.6970, Naval Arrowslits was replaced for the Knights Templar with the Naval Springald Emplacement instead.
Trivia[]
- Naval Arrowslits (and its unique replacement) are the only emplacements which do not change the building model. While Arrowslits adds hoardings to Outposts, all Dock models have hoardings on their tower by default.
- The projectile has attack statistics of 10 ranged attack and +25 vs ships. However, since it can only attack ships, it practically has a 35 ranged attack.
