Mounted Guns is a shared technology available to the Rus and Malians in Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition, essentially making up for the lack of warships for said civilizations. It can be researched at the Dock in the Imperial Age. It affects the Rus and Malian variants of the springald ships (Lodya Attack Ship and War Canoe), by replacing their springald weapon with a more powerful cannon.
Despite the Knights Templar also lacking warships, the technology is unavailable to them to maintain their no-gunpowder identity. Instead, they can unlock the Venetian Galley by selecting the Republic of Venice as their Imperial Age Commanderie.

Tactics[]
In addition to allowing Rus and Malian Springald Ships to defeat the Springald Ships of any opposing civilization, this technology is intended to allow them to be more competitive with other civilizations' Warships as well. For example, in a 2 Springald Ships-vs-1 Warship fight (700 resources vs 600), if the Springald Ships have Swivel Cannon but not Springald Crews researched, researching Mounted Guns will allow them to flip the matchup and defeat the Warship. If Swivel Cannon and Springald Crews are researched, the Springald Ships will win the matchup regardless in a head-on fight, but without Mounted Guns, the considerable range advantage of the Warship will make it easier for it to kite. If Swivel Cannon is not researched, the Warship will always win.
