โ€œ A fierce khan who enhances the warriors around him. โ€
Age of Empires IV description

Mongke Khan is a light ranged cavalry leader in the Conquest chapter of the The Mongol Empire campaign in Age of Empires IV. He has the same abilities as the Mongol Khan in standard games, minus the Scouting Falcon, as well as a special ability which boosts the work rate of military production buildings.

Ability[]

  • Signal Arrows (Active): Mongke Khan can fire a Signal Arrow to temporarily buff all units (including himself) with an aura with a 8.75 tile radius for 5 seconds. Activating one Signal Arrow puts all Signal Arrows on a 90 second cooldown. The Whistling Arrows technology will increase the duration and range of each signal arrow.
    • Maneuver Arrow: Increases the movement speed of nearby units by +33%. Does not affect Villagers.
    • Attack Speed Arrow (requires Feudal Age): Increases the attack speed of nearby ranged units by 50%. Does not affect siege engines.
    • Defense Arrow (requires Castle Age): Increases the armor (melee and ranged) of nearby units by +2.
  • Production (Active): Rallies nearby allied buildings to produce units and research technologies for 15 seconds. Has a cooldown time of 75 seconds.
  • Fortitude (Passive): Heals while out of combat.

Campaign appearances[]

The Mongol Empire[]

  • The Siege of Kiev: Mongke Khan leads the Mongol forces in besieging and razing the Rus city of Kiev, destroying all buildings in the city.

History[]

Mรถngke Khan, also called Mรถngke Khagan or just Mรถngke (Mongolian: แ ฎแ ฅแ ฉแ ฌแ ก, ะœำฉะฝั… Mรถnkh; Chinese: ่’™ๅ“ฅ Mรฉnggฤ“), was the eldest son of Tolui, the youngest of Genghis Khan's four legitimate sons, and the fourth ruler of the Mongol Empire. He participated in many of his grandfather's campaigns, including the conquest of northern China and the invasion of Eastern Europe, notably in Poland and Hungary. He also later participated in the Mongol campaigns in Iraq and Syria alongside his brother Hulagu, founder of the Illkhanate. After his death, he was succeeded by his brother Kublai Khan, who founded the Yuan Dynasty of China.
