โ | With scorching rays and dried-up ponds, this particular region of Mexico is hot and dry - but certainly not barren. Plenty of pronghorn, and even a few bison, roam this semi-arid landscape. Veins of copper will supply adequate coin, but there are very limited trees. A large mesa occupies the center of the map through which a lengthy trading route passes by. Surrounding it are several native settlements; players will sometimes find the Apache and Navajo, but at other times the Zapotec and Maya. | โ |
—In-game description |
Mexico is one of the 22 single-player maps added in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. It is based off of the North American country of Mexico.
Overview[]
Mexico is a land only map with a large mesa at the center of the map, blocking direct access between opposing players. A trade route cuts the map in half and has 4 trading posts along it. Each half contains two native settlements an equal distance away from the player when in a 1V1 match. Wood is somewhat scarcer than in other maps, while there are a standard number of herds and gold mines scattered throughout the map.
Native settlements can contain one of four different minor civilizations: Navajo, Apache, Zapotec, and Maya. The outlaws available at the Saloon and Monastery are the Comanchero and Pistolero.
