—In-game description
The Market is an economic building in Chronicles that becomes available once the Civic Age is reached and a Mill has been built.
The Persian Market in the Civic Age appears to be a simple Mesopotamian mudbrick structure with the decorative yellow/black/white borders from the Ishtar Gate on the two entrance pillars.
The Persian Market in the Classical Age is made of typical Mesopotamian glazed blue bricks with step-tapered merlons and decorative flowers from the Ishtar Gate with the yellow/black/white borders now being much more prominent.
The Market in the Imperial Age has mainly Babylonian elements from the Ishtar Gate such as glazed blue bricks, step-tapered merlons and decorations such as rosettes, stylized trees and palmettes from the side panel or Nebuchadnezzar’s Palace in Babylon,[1] the yellow/black/white borders and rooftop plants. There are also Achaemenid style columns.
