Manipur Cavalry is a technology in Age of Empires II HD: Rise of the Rajas that is unique to the Burmese and can be researched at the Castle once the Imperial Age is reached. Once researched, it gives Arambai and cavalry +6 against standard buildings.
Strategy
The Burmese lack the Siege Onager and the Siege Ram. Manipur Cavalry powers up the Burmese Battle Elephants' raiding capabilities so they can compensate for that.
It must be mentioned that Masonry gives buildings +3 building armor, so half of the bonus is not unlikely to be nullified in later stages of the game. However, as of update 37650, this is no longer the case, and Masonry cannot negate any of the bonus damage from Manipur Cavalry.
Team bonuses
Changelog
Rise of the Rajas
- Initially, Manipur Cavalry gives +6 attack against buildings. With patch 5.2, the bonus is spread over the two building classes (building and standard building) equally so Architecture does not cancel the effect completely anymore. Half of the effect can still be denied by researching Masonry.
Definitive Edition
- With update 37650, the bonus is no longer partially negated by Masonry.
