โ | Teams begin on opposite sides of the Malaysian peninsula next to separate, easily defendable oceans. Two trading posts can be found in the far corners of the map, not so far away from a Sufi or Jesuit settlement, tucked behind the wallable treelines. Each player's starting tin mines won't supply much coin; look to the whales, or silver deposits scattered around the map for more, where you will also find water buffalo to tame. | โ |
—In-game description |
Malaysia is a map in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. It is based on the Malaysian Peninsula in Southeast Asia.
Overview[]
In a 1v1 match, players start on the opposite side of the map from one of two Trading Posts, intersecting the map in a diagonal pattern from northwest to southeast. With additional players, someone starts in close proximity to a Trading Post. Water Buffalo populate the map to be freely claimed. There are two religious sites, one on each side, with Jesuits always being on the left and Sufis always being on the right.
