The Living Poseidon Statue is a very powerful and durable unit in Age of Mythology that makes its appearance in the final scenario of the Fall of the Trident campaign as its final antagonist.
Overview[]
The Living Poseidon Statue is an extremely powerful unit, with 20,000 HP, an immense 300 crush (and 100 hack) attack, and very high armor in all categories. It is highly comparable to the Guardian in stats, though it is inferior concerning anything, save for HP, which is identical.
It is highly resistant to god powers, including Zeus' Bolt. Only Arkantos in his demigod form can beat it, as he has an enormous bonus against it.
Fall of the Trident[]
It appears in the scenario A Place in My Dreams as a must-destroy unit. It has been summoned by Gargarensis, who pleas Poseidon, the scheming major god who intends to free Kronos and rule the world.
Poseidon in return animates the Living Poseidon Statue, which leaves its pedestal and prepares to fight Arkantos and his forces. In essence, it is the final boss of the campaign.
After struggling to stave off summoned creatures from Tartarus, and Gargarensis' forces, Arkantos eventually is blessed by Zeus himself, turning him into a demigod. (The player receives the unique Blessing of Zeus god power.)
After the statue is destroyed, its trident falls onto Gargarensis' torso, brutally impaling and killing him. Poseidon failed to release his father and rule the cosmos, and in his rage, mostly sinks and destroys the island of Atlantis, save for some parts. Arkantos dies during this cataclysm, however, Athena casts a spell and Arkantos ascends into godhood.

Trivia[]
- The unit's internal name is Titan Bad.
- This seems to suggest that the unit might have been intended to be Kronos himself at some point in development and is most likely the origin of the idea of the Titan units implemented in The Titans.
