Lechitic Legacy is a technology in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Dawn of the Dukes that is unique to the Poles. Once researched, it gives 33% trample damage (blast damage) to the Scout Cavalry line within 0.5 tile blast radius (distance between the two units' collision boxes' edges). The 33% damage multiplier is calculated after the melee armor of the trampled enemy [(attack - armor) / 3], and has a minimum of 1 damage.

Strategy[]

With Lechitic Legacy, the Scout Cavalry line of the Poles will excel in melee combat, since they will be able to better slay masses of units, especially archers and gunpowder units, due to the Winged Hussar bonus vs them. Considering how cheap the Scout Cavalry line is, this technology allows the Poles to excel at pitched battles, especially at massed trash unit battles. Considering its cost, it is better to upgrade Blacksmith attack technologies first, then the Winged Hussar upgrade, which makes the unit better overall, at the Stable; and then finally Lechitic Legacy.

Team bonuses[]

  • Portuguese: Researching Lechitic Legacy is 25% faster.

Trivia[]

  • The Lechites, also known as the Lechitic tribes, were West Slavic tribes who inhabited modern-day Poland and were speakers of the Lechitic languages. Distinct from the Czech–Slovak subgroup, they are the closest ancestors of ethnic Poles and the extinct Pomeranians and Polabians.
