| “ | Universal drop-off location that creates a Farm around the Landmark every 50 seconds - generates Wood instead when farmland becomes full. | ” |
| —In-game description | ||
The Kura Storehouse is an economic landmark in Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend, available to the Japanese in the Dark Age, which advances them to the Feudal Age. It acts as a universal drop-off location and periodically generates free Farms in the surrounding area. It can also garrison units (garrisoned units do not fire arrows) and research all economic upgrades that are normally available in the Farmhouse, Forge and Lumber Camp (not including military upgrades from the Forge).
Special ability[]
Plant Rice Field (Passive): The Kura Storehouse periodically generates Farms with specific placement rules:
- There are 12 possible positions for Farms around the Storehouse. The first Farm position is in the left corner, as shown in Position 1 in the image at the bottom of the page
- The Farm placement progresses in a clockwise manner around the Storehouse, every 50 seconds, with the last Farm placed in position 12 in the image below
- If any one of the 4 tiles in a specific position are blocked, that position is skipped and the Farm is placed in the next available completely empty position. Farms will not be placed overlapping two positions, even if there is a 4 x 4 empty space
- If all 12 positions have Farms or are otherwise blocked at the end of 50 seconds, the Storehouse generates 38 wood
- The Storehouse will generate one Farm as soon as it is built. If for some reason all positions are blocked upon completion, it will immediately generate 38 wood.

Trivia[]
Reconstructed Yayoi building at the Yoshinogari site.
- The inspiration for the Kura Storehouse appears to be the early agricultural settlements of Japan's Yayoi period (example reconstruction to the right), which saw the rise of intensive rice cultivation leading to the emergence of larger settled communities on the islands. Kura (蔵) is simply the Japanese word for "warehouse" or "granary".
