"Klamath skirmisher that is accurate to a long range."
In-game description

The Klamath Rifleman is a ranged infantry native warrior in Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs that can be trained at a Trading Post built on a Klamath settlement.

Overview Edit

The Rifleman is similar to the European Skirmisher and is identical to the Cherokee Rifleman. Its use is questionable beyond the Colonial Age for most civilizations, but for those lacking a regular Skirmisher (such as Aztecs, British or Russians), Klamath remain a strong option. With the use of Klamath Strategy and the Elite upgrade, Klamath are able to easily match other Skirmishers in damage, but the the advantage of nearly twice the hit points. Civilizations with strong Native Warrior cards can also make good use of them at all stages of the game.

History Edit

"The Klamath tribes of northern California and Oregon were among the last of the Native American tribes to fight the American settlers trying to take their lands. Late in the 1800s, they fought a war in very difficult terrain, holding off a much superior force for many months. In this bitter struggle, the natives proved especially effective with their rifles."
