Kii is a random map in Age of Mythology: Retold - Heavenly Spear, named for the Kii Peninsula in central Japan, known as one of the most sacred places in the country and renowned for its many Shrines and Temples. It is a semi-open land map, with many small patches of wood in the center complicating access to other players.

The middle of the map has a lot of small patches of forest, with a great many Relics near decorative Shrines. The numerous paths through the forest will slow early attacks somewhat and provide defensible chokepoints during battles, but do not provide enough of a barrier to raids that the player can comfortably boom in the early-to-mid game. Additional Settlements and Gold Mines are far to the sides of the map, where there is less forest cover, but the terrain is broken up a few lone cliffs, which may provide chokepoints depending on the generation. As such, the player is encouraged to expand outward early on and make the most of the resources found there.
Starting hunt consists of Chickens and Green Pheasants, with other potential huntables including Deer, Spotted Deer, Serows, and Snow Monkeys. Predators include either Black Bears or Japanese Wolves, and Cows appear as herdables, scattered throughout the central forest.
