The Khan's Hunter is a light ranged cavalry unit in Age of Empires IV that is unique to the Mongols and was introduced in patch 11.1.1201. It can be trained at the Archery Range starting in the Feudal Age if the Deer Stones landmark has been built, or can spawn randomly from the Khaganate Palace together with either Mangudai or Horse Archers. It is a weak cavalry archer that boosts the range of nearby ranged units.
Ability[]
Khan's Hunter Range Aura (Passive): Increases the range of ranged units within a 4-tile radius by +0.5/+0.8/+1 in the Feudal/Castle/Imperial Age. Cavalry Archers gain an additional +0.5.- Scouting Falcon (Active): Release a Falcon that provides vision in the area (10 tile radius) for 30 seconds. Has a 60 second cooldown.

Tactics[]
While considerably weaker than the Mangudai, the Khan's Hunter is a support unit that boosts the range of other units it accompanies. As support units, and considering their bonuses do not stack, they're best utilized in small numbers alongside stronger units.
In addition to their support role, Khan's Hunters can make decent raiding and harassment units, since like Mangudai they can attack while moving. They are also very cheap for a cavalry unit, and cost wood instead of food, slightly lessening the cost of the food-intensive Mongol army.
