“ | Wolves still surround Lithuania, enemies that long for our downfall — but I shall not stray from the path down which I have started. I will rule as my father did — and, one day, I shall surpass even him. | ” |

History[]
He is the narrator in the Algirdas and Kestutis campaign (he is the son of Algirdas and nephew of Kestutis) and in the campaign epilogue of Jadwiga (he is her husband and king in law of Poland, Władysław II Jagiełło). Jogaila was the last pagan ruler of medieval Lithuania. After he became King of Poland, as a result of the Union of Krewo, the newly formed Polish-Lithuanian union confronted the growing power of the Teutonic Order. The allied victory at the Battle of Grunwald in 1410, followed by the Peace of Thorn, secured the Polish and Lithuanian borders and marked the emergence of the Polish–Lithuanian alliance as a significant force in Europe. The reign of Władysław II Jagiełło extended Polish frontiers and is often considered the beginning of Poland's Golden Age.
Trivia[]
- When Jogaila dies, he refunds 38 gold. This is a reminiscent of the Burgundians' Knight bonus in the beta.
