Strategy[]

Jalisco is the most suitable option for Mexicans in the Imperial Age when the map is almost depleted of resources. This federal state addresses all resources except experience. It ships wood by aging up, enables better coin-collection at Haciendas with Tonalá Ceramics and brings lot of Cows with Guadalajara Ranching that can be used for their food. Being a federal state which focuses on the economy, it is also flexible and allows for long-term economy in the late game.

Among federal states from previous ages, Jalisco synergizes better with states that have more economic upgrades or benefits. The best Commerce Age federal states if going for Jalisco are Durango, Tlaxcala, and Querétaro. Durango allows for an Outlaw- and Mercenary-Strategy that can be complemented with the Baja California revolution, much like with Oaxaca. For Jalisco, this strategy may be sustained for longer, as the Settlers working on the Haciendas will allow coin for a much longer period of time. If the player did not revolt with Baja California, but still wants an outlaw strategy sustained by economy, the player may have to pick either Sonora, Coahuila, or Tabasco in the Fortress Age and pick Zacatecas in the Industrial Age.

Querétaro may give 3,000 wood if using Arteaga Reforms for aging up with Jalisco, while the player may save wood from Houses, as the Haciendas will provide population with the Querétaro Haciendas federal card. Being a Federal state that focuses on economy, Jalisco is also a good follow up for the Central America revolution, which has an economic and artillery focus.

Recommended shipments[]

  • Land Grab, 1 Hacienda Wagon, Alhondiga de Granaditas, TEAM Alta California Territory, Infinite 1 Hacienda (Baja California), Empresarios (Coahuila), Fortified Haciendas (Durango): All shipments that allow cheaper Haciendas, increase their build limit, or give Hacienda Wagons are highly useful for Jalisco.
  • TEAM Alta California Territory, 20 Sheep and San Marcos Fair: Cows and other livestock are not only a source of food for Mexicans, they can also work at the Haciendas.
  • Leather Soldiers: Changes the coin cost of Soldados, Salteadores, Chinacos, and Dragoons to wood on the first time, and vice-versa on the second time.
  • Pioneers: Villagers get +65% hit points. Can be obtained via the base deck or by revolting with Central America.
  • Advanced Saloon, Cantinas and Mexican Standoff: These three shipments are needed for the Durango- Baja California-Jalisco combo.
  • Factory, Porfiriato and Robber Barons (Baja California): For a long-term economy in the late game, Factories are always an option.
  • Barbacoa: Haciendas automatically gather up to two fattened livestock in a radius of 16; Livestock fatten 25% faster when tasked to Haciendas.
  • Mexican Mint, Jalapeno Peppers, Habanero Peppers, Rum Distillery, Cigar Roller, Textile Mill, Tabasco Fruits (Tabasco): These will stack with Tonalá Ceramics.
  • TEAM Trickle Economics (Baja California): Trade Routes generate +60% resources; Trading Posts generate 0.75 XP/sec.
  • Baja California Territory (Baja California): Ships 3 Settlers; Haciendas attract nearby huntable animals to improve their work rate.
  • Capitalism (Baja California): Gives a trickle of 1.65 coin.
  • Salvadoran Coffee (Central America), Tlaxcala Textiles (Tlaxcala), Empresarios (Coahuila): Having Settlers fast allows for a booming strategy with Jalisco.
  • Cerro de Mercado: Exchanges all wood for 1.5× the coin; Gives 350 coin. Useful for an outlaw or mercenary strategy.
  • Arteaga Reforms: The next Federal State ships twice as much units/resources; The next unit upgrade at the Barracks is free.
  • Sonora Cuatreros (Sonora): Cuatreros can gather food from animals; Ships 8 Cuatreros.
  • Sonora Valleys (Sonora) and Refrigeration: With these shipments, Settlers will gather food from livestock faster.
  • Zacatecas Silver (Zacatecas), 1 Gold Prospector Wagon (Baja California): With these and Tonalá Ceramics, the player can secure coin for a very long term.
  • Any shipment that improves military units or buildings: Jalisco is completely focused on the economy, so the player may also have to use several improvements for their military and fortifications.
