Italy mini map with eight players
Italy is a Real World random map introduced in Age of Empires II: The Conquerors. It depicts the area around the Apennine Peninsula.
Overview[]
The peninsula in the center of the map is initially uninhabited and since it holds valuable resources, first of all gold, setting foot there is usually the goal of every player. It can only be accessed over the sea, since the north is bordered with an impassable cliff. This, combined with the fact that there are long shore lines and small islands make naval battle inevitable. The land itself is quite densely forested.
Environment[]
Wolves, Deer, Wild Boars, and Sheep can be found on the map. The terrain is mostly grassy and covered with patches of broadleaf forest, only in North Africa palms decorate the desert.
