Age of Empires II[]
โ | Rome has fallen and the peninsula is up for grabs. | โ |

Overview[]
The peninsula in the center of the map is initially uninhabited and since it holds valuable resources, first of all gold, setting foot there is usually the goal of every player. Before the Definitive Edition, it could only be accessed over the sea, since the north was bordered with an impassable cliff. In the Definitive Edition, the cliff was opened, and a player was moved from Africa to the center of Italy. Even so, the player on Sardinia and the player in Africa are separated from the rest of the map by water, making naval battle inevitable. The land itself is quite densely forested.
Environment[]
Wolves, Deer, Wild Boars, and Sheep can be found on the map. The terrain is mostly grassy and covered with patches of broadleaf forest, only in North Africa palms decorate the desert.
Age of Empires III[]
โ | In Italy teams are split on opposite sides of the Po River, each player with their base well protected inside a Star Fort. However, only a few natural resources exist within each player's Star Fort so it is important to establish a presence on the map to secure natural resources and contest the many royal palaces and trading posts along the river. | โ |
