Infantry units fight on the ground in close combat with enemies, distinguishing them from ranged soldiers and cavalry. Infantry are mostly human soldiers, rather than heroes or myth units, though Norse and Atlantean heroes are classified similar to their human counterparts as well (since Retold). Counter-infantry units gain a bonus against all the infantry units listed below.

- Hypaspist: +275% damage against infantry
- Myrmidon: Pre-Retold: +50% damage against all non-Greek human soldiers, except Axeman and Throwing Axeman. Retold: Deals divine damage, ignoring armor values.
- Spearman: +10% damage against cavalry, upgradable to +110% against cavalry, +25% against Turma, +100% against siege
- Axeman: +300% damage against infantry
- Berserk: Upgradable to have +100% damage against cavalry
- Throwing Axeman is the only infantry with ranged attack (9 meters): +175% damage against Hoplite and Myrmidon, +100% against Hersir and +125% against all other infantry
- Huskarl: +100% damage against ranged soldiers and -25% damage against Cheiroballistae
- Katapeltes: +200% against cavalry, +150% against siege
- Fanatic: +100% against infantry, Hersir and cavalry

Zeus: +50% bonus damage versus buildings. Hoplites +15% speed.
Hades: 20% chance for a fallen infantry unit to return from the dead as a Shade.
Odin: +0.4 hit point regeneration per second.
Loki: +20% bonus damage multipliers. Damaging enemy units can spawn
myth units. Transforming Dwarves and Gatherers to Berserks is 50% cheaper.
Oranos: +4 Line of Sight.
Gaia: Regenerate 1 hit point per second when on Lush.
