Infantry units in Age of Empires IV are one of the three combat forces on land, the other ones being cavalry and siege. Infantry in Age of Empires IV refers to all foot combat units, unlike Cavalry, which includes non-combat units too.
General Information[]
Infantry units are typically characterized by slower speed, fewer hit points, and less cost than cavalry. They can be divided into two separate main types:
Each of these types has significantly different purposes, strengths, and weaknesses. However, they do share some similarities. All infantry are capable of building Battering Rams and Siege Towers after researching Siege Engineering and garrisoning inside these siege engines. Furthermore, all infantry units can climb on top of Stone Walls and take reduced damage.
