Infantry Breastplate is a technology in Age of Empires III that can be researched by African, European, Federal American civilizations and Japanese at the Arsenal; Haudenosaunee and Lakota can also research it at the Longhouse and the Teepee respectively once the "New Ways" Home City Card has been sent. Once researched, it increases the hit points of hand infantry and foot archers by 10%.

Note: The Azap is considered both a hand infantry and a foot archer, but does not receive double benefit from Infantry Breastplate. Instead, the Azap receives +10% hit points.

• With update 23511, Infantry Breastplate increases the hit points of foot archers and the in-game description is "Hand Infantry, Shock Infantry and Foot Archer hitpoints increased."

Trivia

• Although the in-game description since update 23511 says that the technology affects shock infantry units, it actually does not affect all shock infantry units, since the technology affects hand infantry and foot archers and only hand shock infantry units have the hand infantry tag.
