Strategy[]
The Hyena of Set's function is identical to that of its Age of Mythology counterpart in that it is primarily used for early game scouting. Set worshipers are granted one free Hyena of Set at the beginning of a skirmish or multiplayer game in addition to a Priest. Its Movement and Sight is superior to that of the Egyptian Priest so it can cover more distance per turn and reveal more. Set players should use this to find the enemy's town faster while the Priest scouts the area closest to the player's Town Center to find resources. Combat-wise, the Hyena of Set is too frail to be of any use. If it has survived long enough to witness the first fights and scouted enough of the map, it can be used to weaken an enemy unit, preferably a ranged unit which will be unable to retaliate, so that a stronger unit has an easier chance to finish them off. Afterwards, it merely serves as a scapegoat, forcing the enemy to use up one of their attack moves in order to get rid of it. Hyenas of Set can be retrained, but there is little use for them once the map has been properly scouted (made easier with Set's Eyes of the Desert God Power).
