Strategy[]

Huangdi focuses on improving the player's human units, especially human soldiers. His Xuanyuan's Bloodline technology grants infantry units a temporary damage boost and lifesteal effect when nearby allied infantry units die, encouraging mass production of infantry to engage an enemy. Leizu's Silk makes all of the player's human soldiers and villagers have more hit points and hack armor, making them more impervious. This is especially useful if the player faces an enemy amassing a large force of melee units, such as cavalry. Imperial Order makes Military Camps and their units and enhancements cheaper, further encouraging mass production of Military Camp units. These bonuses synergize nicely with Fuxi's bonuses, which also benefit human soldiers.

His myth unit, the Hundun, is a powerful but slow faceless creature capable of scaring away or even banishing enemy units into the void for a short period of time. It is strong against groups of human soldiers and decent against buildings and other myth units. With the Power of Chaos technology, the Hundun can deal much more damage to enemy units that it banishes into the void, even instantly killing villagers except for Kuafus and Citizens (especially their hero variants).

Huangdi's god power, Yinglong's Wrath, summons the legendary rain dragon Yinglong, a very powerful myth unit who strikes his enemies with highly damaging thunderbolts that damage all enemies in a small area. In a similar manner to Hel's Nidhogg, Yinglong's purpose is to strengthen the player's army, acting as a flying siege weapon capable of tackling any unit and building in the game. His rain not only slows down enemy units below him, making them easier to eliminate, but it also benefits Farms, boosting their gather rate. This is especially useful when paired with Shennong's focus on farming. However, much like the Nidhogg, Yinglong cannot regenerate or be healed, so once summoned, it is important to keep him well-supported with an army and to avoid ranged fortifications, powerful ranged or flying myth units like the Manticore and Zhuque, or especially ranged heroes.

Mythology[]

Huangdi, also known as the Yellow Emperor, is a mythological figure regarded as the first ruler to unify the various tribes of ancient China. His famous feats include defeating the war god Chiyou, establishing China's political system, creating the calendar, inventing writing, and discovering the secrets of silk production. Many ancient Chinese dynasties claim him as their ancestor.

According to legend, during a rite to honor heaven and earth, a great yellow mythical creature appeared, inspiring Huangdi to revere the color and adopt it as his emblematic symbol.
