Huang Zhaowu (Traditional Chinese: 黄兆武; Simplified Chinese: 黄昭武) is the main antagonist of the Pillars of the Gods campaign introduced in Age of Mythology: Retold - Immortal Pillars.
Special ability[]
Life Absorption (Charged): Absorbs the life of a targeted allied unit to resurrect the hero. (Lifts enemy units around him into the air to hold them in place (except flying units) and absorbs their hit points (including flying units, which he otherwise cannot attack), healing himself. Recharge time: 45 seconds)
- While he cannot normally attack flying units, this ability can target and damage flying units.
Divine Immunity (Passive): Cannot be targeted by god powers which target a single specific unit.
Sacred Hands (Passive): He can pick up and deposit Relics in Temples.

Huang Zhaowu was a champion of Huangdi who was granted immortality by the gods for his service. As the years went on, his beloved wife Xiaoli, who remained a mortal, aged and eventually passed into the next world. Devastated by her loss, Zhaowu beseeched the gods for her return, but was denied by the Mandate of Heaven. Feeling forsaken, he chose to defy fate and destroy the Celestial Pillars which keep the worlds separate, to find and return Xiaoli back to his side.

Trivia[]
- The icon does not have a golden glow like most heroes. Instead, it has a red glow, which is also used for certain main antagonists such as Gargarensis, Kamos, etc.
- In the official Chinese translation, Huang Zhaowu's name is written as "黄兆武", and in the simplified Chinese version his name is written as "黄昭武".
