Template:Infobox heroHero Caesar is a cavalry hero in Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome. He is the main character of the Roman Ave Caesar campaign in which he appears in every scenario. He is represented by a Cataphract, but is much stronger and more durable. He can also be upgraded just like any other cavalry, but cannot be trained.

He is based on Julius Caesar, the famous Roman general and military politician, who played a critical role in the rise of the Roman Empire.

Overview

Like Hero Scipio, one of the special characteristics of Hero Caesar is that he moves roughly 25% faster than an ordinary cavalry unit. This makes him less vulnerable to ranged attacks as he can outrun a Heavy Horse Archer.

Another thing that makes him unique is that his line of sight is much larger than those of infantry or other cavalry, making him effective for scouting and attacking isolated enemy units on the map.
