Heavy Warships is a technology in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition introduced with the upcoming naval rework that can be researched at the Dock once the Imperial Age is reached. Once researched, War Galleys, Fire Ships, and War Hulks are upgraded to Galleons, Fast Fire Ships, and Carracks, respectively.
The Demolition Ship and unique warships are upgraded separately with their own upgrades.

In naval battles, quickly advancing to the Imperial Age and researching Heavy Warships is considered imperative.
