Heavy Maces is a unique technology in Age of Empires IV. It is available to the Holy Roman Empire and can be researched at the Barracks starting in the Castle Age. Once researched, it grants Men-at-Arms an attack bonus of +6 vs Heavy units.
If researched at the Burgrave Palace, it researches 400% faster (12 seconds).
