Handcannon Slits is a weapon emplacement in Age of Empires IV for the Outpost available to the Chinese and Zhu Xi's Legacy starting in the Feudal Age. It replaces Arrowslits. After upgrading, the Outpost gains a defensive handcannon slits attack, enabling it to attack enemy units without needing to be garrisoned. Furthermore, the range of garrison arrows is increased from 6 tiles to 7 tiles.
The emplacement researches 150% faster when the Outpost is supervised by an Imperial Official. For Zhu Xi's Legacy, this can be improved to 300% faster after researching Regional Inspection.

- Since update 8324, Handcannon Slits also increases the range of the garrison arrows fired by the upgraded Outpost from 6 tiles to 8 tiles. With Season Two Update 17718, Handcannon Slits increases the range of garrison arrows fired by the upgraded Outpost from 6 tiles to 7 tiles.
Campaign version[]
Handcannon Slits are obtainable by the enemy in the The Mongol Empire campaign. Because the original four campaigns have not been rebalanced since the release of the game, Handcannon Slits are stronger than in other game modes. They have 30 ranged attack and 9 tiles of range, with no attack bonus vs ships.
