Haboob is a random map in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.
Description[]
| โ | An incredibly open and spacious desert with little to no opportunity to secure your resources. Forests are sparse, exposed and challenging to defend. | โ |
| —In-game description | ||
Haboob is a very open map, as wood access is restricted to a small number of key areas. A thick layer of trees surrounds the outer map edge, and in team games, large circular forests are placed directly between each pair of adjacent players. In 1v1s, two forests lie perpendicular to the path between opponents. Players have access to the typical starting resource deposits, but with Rhinos or Elephants instead of Boars. In the center of the map is a partially collapsed pyramid. A Relic always generates near the pyramid, with the remaining Relics roughly evenly spaced in a circle slightly farther from the middle than the starting bases.
Best civilizations for Haboob:
- Civilizations with good early aggression capabilities (Aztecs, Cumans, Mongols, Tatars, Turks, Huns, and Magyars)
Civilizations that may struggle in this map:
- Civilizations with poor early game bonuses or poor early game defense (Portuguese, Turks, Italians, Vietnamese, Saracens, etc.)
