Gustavian Guards is a technology in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition that is unique to the Swedes and can be researched at the Church once the Commerce Age is reached and the "Treaty of Roskilde" Home City Card has been sent. Once researched, 16 Veteran Halberdiers named Gustavian Guard will appear in the Home City shipment point, all existing Halberdiers will be renamed to Gustavian Guards, their resistance increases by 5%, and their speed by 0.25.
Gustavian Guards is one of the ways for the Swedes to acquire Halberdiers, the other way being through the "Dalcarlian Rebellion" Home City Card, which turns all Pikemen into Halberdiers.
