Guerrero is an Industrial Age Federal State in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, available to the Mexicans. As soon as the player advances to the Industrial Age by choosing Guerrero, five Soldados appear at the Home City shipment point and the following Home City Cards will be added into the Mexican player's deck:
Card | Description |
---|---|
Aztec Pueblos | Native Embassies gain a ranged attack; Champion Aztec Jaguar Warriors and Eagle Warriors available at Native Embassy; The player is considered to ally with the Aztecs for "Native Treaties" |
Independence Hero | Ships a second General |
Strategy[]
For players that prefer a combination of infantry, native units, and good Hero units, Guerrero is the Federal State they should pick when playing with the Mexicans. Guerrero ships 5 Soldados by aging up, which can be 10 if they chose Queretaro in the Commerce Age and used Arteaga Reforms before aging up to Guerrero. This shipment will allow Guard Soldados for free (if Veteran Soldados is already researched).
If the player has a native unit based deck, Aztec Pueblos enables Aztec Jaguar Warriors and Aztec Eagle Warriors. Both units are infantry, so any shipment that improves infantry will benefit both of these units as well as the Soldados. Aztec Pueblos makes Guerrero a great follow-up for Tlaxcala and a good pick if the player is going to Age up with Oaxaca in the Imperial Age. These three Federal states have one Federal Card that activates a native alliance to the player, and these will be counted if the player has the Native Treaties card (Each different allied native tribe sends a shipment of their respective native warriors) in their deck.
To fill the gap in the Fortress Age, it is recommended to pick San Luis Potosรญ or Coahuila, as Bustamante and Land of Zaragoza respectively synergizes with the second Federal Card of Guerrero, which is Independence Hero, as this gives a second General which makes Guerrero a great pick if the player has also other shipments that improve Hero units or Inspiring Flags. Oaxaca is probably the best follow-up federal state the player can pick in the Imperial Age if they picked Guerrero, as it not only offers Zapotec Valley (Alliance with Zapotecs enabled), it also provides Land of Juarez, which improves the Inspiring Flag. The two last revolutions are almost equally good if picking Guerrero, as both have one shipment that improves Inspiring Flags, but Texas might be a bit better than California, as Texas will turn the Soldados into Regulars.
