Guan Yu is a hero cavalry unit introduced in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - The Three Kingdoms. He is present in campaign scenarios and is available in the Scenario Editor. He has a unique appearance and uses unique voice lines, which do not change with the assigned civilization. As a hero, he is immune to conversion and can regenerate hit points.
Special abilities[]
Green Dragon Strike: He has a special active ability which temporarily boosts himself:
- The ability is activated by clicking its icon in the unit's command panel.
- It grants his attack an Area of Effect of radius 2 for 15 seconds.
- It has a 90 second cooldown, which starts recharging after the ability's duration.

He is playable in the Liu Bei campaign, where he can be trained at the Hall of Heroes for 50 gold.
Trivia[]
- He is one of the only two units in the game to do bonus damage to heroes, the other being the Ninja.
