The Great Wall Gatehouse is a defensive landmark available to the Chinese in Age of Empires IV in the Castle Age. It acts like a Stone Wall Gate, and as such must be built over Stone Walls. It requires at least a 3-segment length of Stone Wall on which to be built. As a Stone Wall Gate, it is immune to Fire damage, and is hence the only Landmark that cannot be destroyed without using siege weapons. It also comes with an innate Nest of Bees emplacement that fires a burst of arrows. Hence, it is a Gate-Keep hybrid, but it cannot garrison any units. It's ability increases the damage of all units on top of Stone Walls.
Special ability[]
The Long Wall (Passive): The Great Wall Gatehouse provides all troops on any Stone Wall with a 25% increase in ranged damage.- Extra Materials (passive, requires unlock): Automatically repair damaged walls and gates within a 4-tile radius. A single section is repaired at a time for 20 hit points per second. This does not affect the landmark itself.

Trivia[]
- Its real life counterpart is the Juyongguan Great Wall.
- Despite coming with a Nest of Bees emplacement, it does not benefit from Additional Barrels.
Changelog[]
- With Season Two Update 17718, the Great Wall Gatehouse no longer increases the hit points of Stone Walls and Gates by 100%.
- Originally, the Great Wall Gatehouse bestowed a 50% ranged attack bonus to all troops on nearby walls. With Season Two Update 17718, this bonus was reduced to 25% but is now applied globally to troops on walls.
- Originally, the Great Wall Gatehouse was unarmed. With the Season Two Update, the Great Wall Gatehouse now possesses a Nest of Bees emplacement that does 15 damage. With patch 7.1.113, the damage was reduced to 13.
- With patch 11.1.1201, this landmark now benefits from the Extra Materials upgrade.
