The Great Pyramid (also known as the Pyramid of Khufu) is an unconstructible building in Age of Empires II and in Return of Rome.
Just like the regular Pyramid, Great Pyramids are purely decorative and have no use for the player except for providing Line of Sight. Different from what appearance might suggest, Great Pyramids are much more fragile than the smaller regular Pyramids, having only half as many hit points and much less armor.
It is internally set as a Hero, and thus is immune to conversion while also regenerating hit points.
Age of Empires[]
The Great Pyramid was imported from Age of Empires II to the Age of Empires mode in Return of Rome. They cannot be built in normal gameplay, and can only be found in the Scenario Editor (under the Building tab). As a hero building, it is immune to conversion and can regenerate hit points.
Trivia[]
- The Egyptian Wonder also depicts the Great Pyramid, but is much smaller than this building.
- It is the only hero building in Age of Empires.
Age of Empires II[]
The Great Pyramid is present in one scenario and is also available in the Scenario Editor under the Building tab (previously under Other tab). As a hero building, it is immune to conversion and can regenerate hit points.
Campaign appearances[]
- An Arabian Knight: A Great Pyramid is flanked by two Pyramids in the desert west of Cairo.
Trivia[]
- When the Great Pyramid is destroyed, the rubble left behind is the original rubble from Age of Empires.
