Gonzalo Pizarro (1510 - April 10, 1548) was a Spanish Conquistador and a younger half-brother of the conqueror of the Inca Empire, Francisco Pizarro.
In Age of Empires II HD: The Forgotten, Gonzalo Pizarro is the superior of the El Dorado campaign's protagonist, Francisco de Orellana. He is present as an allied faction (and his own unit) in the first scenario, where he controls a camp east of Quito that Orellana must visit. Afterward, Pizarro will give Orellana different quests to fulfill. Sometimes Pizarro will provide the player with units (mostly Conquistadors), and others he will relieve control of them.
In the second scenario - aptly titled The Split - Pizarro is a must-survive unit under the player's control until he goes separate ways with Orellana.
He is one of the starting unit in the Battle Royale El Dorado map.
Unit[]
Gonzalo Pizarro is depicted as a mounted gunpowder hero with the appearance of a Conquistador, but better stats. As a hero, he cannot be converted and can regenerate health. He is available in the El Dorado campaign and also in the Scenario Editor.
In the Definitive Edition, the El Dorado campaign is no longer playable but Pizarro is still present in the Editor along with Orellana and other units originally found in it. He also has a cameo at the end of the second scenario in the Montezuma campaign, where he is renamed to Hernรกn Cortรฉz (1485-1547).
