Golden Cuirass is a unique technology in Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend, available to the Order of the Dragon, that can be researched at the Meinwerk Palace landmark starting in the Feudal Age. It causes Gilded Men-at-Arms to take -20% damage when they fall below 30% hit points. Since it is unique to the Meinwerk Palace, it cannot be researched if advancing to the Feudal Age with the Aachen Chapel.

Changelog

• Initially, the damage reduction would trigger below 20% hit points. With patch 9.1.370, this was increased to 30%.
• Originally, Golden Cuirass had a base cost 50 food, 125 gold, resulting in a total cost of 30 food, 75 gold after the Meinwerk Palace discount. With update 10.0.576, the base cost was increased to 100 food, 200 gold, and the Meinwerk Palace discount was increased from 40% to 50%, resulting in a final cost of 50 food, 100 gold
• Originally, the Meinwerk Palace research speed bonus was +40%, resulting in a research time of 43 seconds. With update 10.0.576, this bonus was increased to +50%, resulting in a research time of 40 seconds (the base research time remained the same).
