Giza is a random map introduced in Age of Mythology: Retold. It is based on the dry and sandy environs of Giza, featuring a few decorative Pyramids. It is an open land map with a lot of gold and food, but sparse wood.
Overview[]

It is a very open and full land map with very few forests clustered in small grassy patches, with numerous large herds of various animals scattered around. Settlements spawn in grassy patches, with at least three forests around each. Also, around each Settlement and starting Town Center, there are a few reactive huntables (such as Hippopotami and Rhinoceroses). Many Gold Mines can appear anywhere in the map, with one guaranteed to appear near each player's starting location. The map is very open with few obstructions, with only some hills (composed of cliffs), patches of forest, and a few decorative Pyramids breaking the landscape. Two Relics per player may spawn near the edges of the map.
As Giza is a large, open map, with wood being uncommon, fast, aggressive play is recommended. Major gods like Fuxi, Kronos, Odin, and Loki will therefore have an advantage. Gaia has a workaround for the scarcity of wood in the form of her Gaia Forest god power, while both Fuxi and Nรผwa can worship Goumang in the Heroic Age to grant their Houses the ability to grow trees and be used as drop sites for wood.
