Geometry is a technology in Age of Empires IV that can be researched at the Siege Workshop* in the Imperial Age. Once researched, it increases the damage output of Traction Trebuchets and Counterweight Trebuchets by 20%. This includes base damage and bonus damage.
It is available to all civilizations except Byzantines, which have Greek Fire Projectiles instead.
Civilization bonuses[]
Abbasid Dynasty: Research speeds are +15%/+20% faster while Golden Age tiers 2/3 are active- Ayyubids: Research speeds are 25% faster while Golden Age tier 2 is active
- Chinese and Zhu Xi's Legacy: The technology researches 150% faster when the Siege Workshop is supervised by an Imperial Official. For Zhu Xi's Legacy, this can be improved to 300% faster after researching Regional Inspection.
- Delhi Sultanate: The technology is free, but takes 12x as long to research (540 seconds instead of 45 seconds). The research time can be further decreased by 50% if a Scholar is garrisoned inside the Siege Workshop at which it is researched.
- House of Lancaster: This technology is 15% cheaper if King's College has been constructed.
- Japanese: Research speed is +150% faster when researched at a Siege Workshop with a Yorishiro garrisoned.
- Malians: Technologies take less time to research based on how much gold has been obtained through trade.
- Mongols: Can research Improved Geometry for another 325 stone, which provides another +10% attack.

- Originally, the base research time for the Delhi Sultanate was 5x default (450 seconds). With update 8324, this was increased to 15x default (1350 seconds). With Season Two Update 17718, it takes 12x as long (540 seconds).
- Originally, Geometry was available at the University, cost 300 wood, 700 gold, and took 90 seconds to research. With the Season One Update, it is available at the Siege Workshop, costs 100 wood, 225 gold, and takes 45 seconds to research.
- Originally, it affected Battering Rams too. With update 6.0.878, it was removed because of the introduction of Lightweight Beams.
- Originally, it provided +30% attack. With update 6.0.878, it provides +20% attack.
- Originally, the Mongols did not have access to Geometry. With the Season Two Update, Geometry and Improved Geometry are available in the Siege Workshop, and Improved Geometry provides an additional +15% attack. With update 6.0.878, Improved Geometry additional attack was reduced to +10% attack (+30% total)
- With update 12.0.1974, Geometry applies to bonus damage as well as base damage.
