Gaia Forest (named Gaia's Forest before Retold) is an Atlantean Archaic Age god power in Age of Mythology: The Titans that is available to worshipers of Gaia. When invoked, it slowly generates an aspen forest of Gaia Trees* which the player can harvest wood from over a course of 66 seconds.
Further statistics[]
Age bonuses[]
Wonder Age: -75% recharge cooldown and recast favor cost.
Relic bonuses[]
Hekate's Torches: -10% recharge cooldown and recast favor cost.
Strategy[]
Gaia Forest is similar to Thor's Dwarven Mine, except it creates wood instead of gold. Each use of the power creates 20 aspen trees, and each tree contains 250 wood (instead of the usual 200 wood); plus Citizens gather from these Gaia Trees 5% faster than ordinary trees.
Gaia Forest is also useful as a barrier to keep enemy troops from entering an area, most notably in Jotunheim. Early in the game it provides a nice boost in wood and later on it can provide a source when most of the trees are chopped down. Before the release of the Extended Edition, Gaia Trees could not be targeted by the Walking Woods god power, but have always been susceptible to Forest Fires or Colossi eating the trees to regain hit points. Following the release of Immortal Pillars, in team games, Gaia Forest can be used in conjunction with Goumang's Vibrant Land-enhanced Houses to provide even more sources of wood in the late game.
