Freyja grants substantial improvements to cavalry and heroes. Her myth unit, the Valkyrie, looks and functions like a cavalry unit with the added ability to heal friendly units – a significant boost for an attacking Norse army. Freyja's technologies improve Valkyries and human cavalry units (Raiding Cavalry and Jarls), granting them more hit points and speed. For Raiding Cavalry, this makes raiding even quicker, and, when supported by a Valkyrie or two, they can be healed too to carry on the attack quickly. More fighting also means more favor, which means Valkyries can be trained more quickly. For Jarls, it helps them catch up to other units better, as their slow speed is arguably their biggest drawback. Her myth technology Sessrumnir also increases the hit points of Hersirs and Godis. Since update 18.21333, Sessrumnir also unlocks Godis in the Classical Age, thus granting the player better defense against ranged or flying myth units early on.
Freyja's god power, Forest Fire, burns down a group of trees, often destroying nearby buildings and harming nearby units. Naturally, it is more useful on well-wooded maps but can also be used against Houses growing trees thanks to Goumang's Vibrant Land technology, damaging the Houses simultaneously as well.
Freyr players who pick Freyja in the Classical Age, follow up with Aegir in the Heroic Age, and finish with Vidar in the Mythic Age will be able to heal their units in a wider variety of ways and have faster and stronger heroes. Likewise, Odin players can follow up with Njord in the Heroic Age to have even stronger cavalry units.

| “ | Daughter of Njord, the sea god, Freyja was a goddess of war, love, and magic. She was also considered a fertility goddess who rode a chariot drawn by cats. Legends hold that she was continually searching heaven and earth for Odr, her lost husband, while shedding tears that turned to gold on land and amber in the sea. (Odr may have been Odin, who spent untold time wandering about in search of adventure). In the Norse tradition, Freyja and two other Vanir (fertility gods) moved to Asgard to live with the Aesir (war gods) as a token of friendship following a war. She wore the Brisingamen necklace, a treasure of great value and beauty that she obtained by sleeping with the four dwarves who had made it. She also split the heroic casualties of war with Odin. His share went with him to Valholl (Valhalla) and her share went to live in her great hall, Sessrumnir. | ” |
