The French Brigade is a Consulate technology in Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties that can be researched by Chinese and Indians if they choose the French as their ally once the Imperial Age is reached. It ships fifteen Gendarmes.
Strategy[]
The Gendarmes are highly effective units that easily demolish light infantry and artillery, and do reasonably decent against heavy infantry units due to their high Area of Effect, high base attack, and incredible hit points. The army is not very versatile though, and will easily lose to light ranged cavalry and heavy infantry units, so it should be shipped with support from light infantry such as the Arquebusier.
