Fortify Outpost is a defensive emplacement in Age of Empires IV for the Outpost available starting in the Feudal Age. After upgrading, the Outpost gains 1,000 extra hit points and 5 extra fire armor. It also changes its building design (see gallery). As an emplacement, it is not subject to most bonuses that affect researching technologies.

Civilization bonuses

• Byzantines: When researched at an Outpost within the influence of a Cistern with the Dialecticus ability active, the research speed of this emplacement is 30% faster per water level at the Cistern.
• Chinese and Zhu Xi's Legacy: The emplacement researches 150% faster when the Outpost is supervised by an Imperial Official. For Zhu Xi's Legacy, this can be improved to 300% faster after researching Regional Inspection.
• Holy Roman Empire and Order of the Dragon: Emplacements cost 20% less. They also benefit from Relics garrisoned within their defensive building.
