Strategy[]
The Promethean is a moderately powerful melee unit which can handle human soldiers well. In addition, it possesses attack bonus against other Myth Units. Notably, it also deals a small amount of crush damage to buildings, making the Promethean the only viable Atlantean Classical Age siege unit and a critical part of any early-game raid. However, it is fairly weak compared to most other Myth Units and is for the most part outclassed by Heroic and Mythic Age units. In addition, it is quite vulnerable to ranged units and buildings, making it poor at taking out enemy defenses.
Changelog[]
The Titans[]
- Originally, Prometheans cost 70 gold and have 8 crush damage. With patch 1.02, they cost 80 gold and have 5 crush damage.
Mythology[]
“ | Scientific name – Homo Protos Size – 7' tall Diet – fire, coals, eagles Prometheans are slow but have a pretty armor and a decent attack. When they are destroyed, two smaller Prometheans are formed from the clay of the first. Prometheus was one of the few Titans who sided with the Olympians in the Titanomachy. He and his brother Epimetheus were tasked with the creation of humans. These first people were formed from clay and called Prometheans. Seeing their frail mortal forms struggle he gave his creations the gift of fire so that they could be strong. This angered Zeus and the god bound Prometheus to the side of a mountain where he was attacked and partially devoured every day. | ” |
Promethean Offspring[]
After being killed, the Promethean will split into two smaller, faster Promethean Offspring, both of which have half the hit points, hack resistance and attack of the parent Promethean, but higher pierce resistance.
God bonuses and upgrades[]
Specific[]
- Alluvial Clay (Prometheus): increases hit points by 30%
General[]
- Mythic Rejuvenation (Hekate): Regenerate 2 hp/sec.
- Eyes of Atlas (Atlas): increases LOS by 9.
Strategy[]
Due to the offsprings' fragility, they are not ideal for direct combat and will not last long in battle, but they are perfect to hit the enemy villagers and disrupt the economy of an opponent because the villagers stop working when they are attacked.
