Eruption is a random map in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.
Description[]
The mountainous volcano holds valuable treasures at its peak, but climbing it will leave you defenceless to enemy attacks from above.
Eruption is very similar to Gold Rush. It has typical starting resources around each player's base, but very little gold outside of the large cluster of deposits in the center. The steep slopes leading up to the middle area level off into a narrow flat rim that is extremely well-suited for building defensive fortifications. If a player is able to control the rim long enough to build up their position, assaulting those fortifications could become very difficult. Wolves inhabit the forested area around the base of the mountain, but only Goats inhabit the mountain itself.
